Accessing the our Dashboard as a Site Admin
1. Go to https://jefconassociates.com/wp-admin.
2. Enter your username and password (provided by our company’s admin or created by you).
3. Click “Log In” to access the Jefcon dashboard.
Things you can do on admin dashboard
Creating and Managing Users
- Click on “Users” in the left-hand menu.
- Click “Add New” to create a new user.
- Enter the user’s details:
– Username
– Email
– Password (strongly recommended to use a password generator)
– Role (select from Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor, or Subscriber). - Click “Add New User” to create the user.
- Manage user permissions and capabilities by clicking on the user’s role.
Managing Blog Posts
- Click on “Posts” in the left-hand menu.
- Click “Add New” to create a new post.
- Enter the post’s details:
– Title
– Content (use the visual editor or switch to text mode)
– Categories (select from existing or create new)
– Tags (optional) - Upload images or videos by clicking the “Add Media” button.
- Schedule posts for future publication using the “Publish” settings.
- Edit, delete, or draft posts as needed.
Managing Pages
- Click on “Pages” in the left-hand menu.
- Click “Add New” to create a new page.
- Enter the page’s details:
– Title
– Content (use the visual editor or switch to text mode)
– Categories (select from existing or create new)
– Parent page (optional) - Upload images or videos by clicking the “Add Media” button.
- Create hierarchies with parent and child pages.
- Edit, delete, or draft pages as needed.
Managing Comments
1. Click on “Comments” in the left-hand menu.
2. View and manage comments:
– Approve, reply, edit, or delete comments
– Use comment moderation tools (hold for moderation, spam, trash)
3. Enable or disable comments for specific posts or pages.
Uploading Media Files
- Access the media library by clicking “Media” in the left-hand menu.
- Upload files (images, videos, documents) from your computer.
- Add titles, captions, and descriptions to media files.
- Use the media library to insert files into posts and pages.
- Manage file sizes and formats.
